So, my problem is related to my GAE workbench install? How strange. Any other advice? Ok, I made some progress. I'm trying some really basic games like King's Quest and Space Quest. Tried running via AG-Launch, but still couldn't get anything to work. Did you try running the Games via AG-Launch? Thank you for all the great advice! I will try some of them and report back.

Try booting without full workbench as that will save some precious memory for WHDLoad. This needs some minor modifications to the motherboard and gives you a total amount of 1 MB chip-ram.įind More Posts by mombasajoe. You could try to make your trapdoor-ram used as chip ram, too.

Perhaps you should consider doing a 1mb chip ram mod. Here is a picture of my setup for those interested. Do I not have enough? Would I need to get a fast ram expansion like a kipper2k to be able to do it, or should I even bother? Any suggestions?User Name Remember Me? Would this be due to the amount of memory I have? I would have thought perhaps this would be enough to run some games, but i'm finding that most won't even boot with that much. And the best part? I just don't know what to do anymore. I googled that it might have something to do with the filesystem on the drive, so I created a new partition with SFS filesystem, but the same thing happens there. Stuff like Eye of the Beholder 1 shows a "mismatching file size during data load" error, pointing to either empty file '' or some random garbage string ' DJ FDO' etc. Ah, I guess my happiness was a bit short-lived, as today I checked several WHDLoad games and applications, and sadly most of them refuse to work. So yeah, thanks for everyone who replied and answered my questions. Thanks for the reply as well! I'm just a beginner, so please be merciful. Unfortunately I just find a german how-to article, but I'm sure there are english tutorials about it as well.

You can mod your A depends on the revision number of your board to make your trapdoor expansion a KB chip mem expansion. That will sort out the hardware side of things, not sure what kickstart is required for Whdload, i've only used it on 3.

Hello there! Will the software be able to use the 8MB of fastram on the board, to run more hefty games like Monkey Island II with no problems? Back to top. Anybody knows about it? Would that be appliable to my rev8A mainboard? EDIT: nevermind, I found it!Tip: Get Amiga Forever for super-comfy Amiga emulation with pre-installed Workbench, games and other goodies!Ī sister site to Lemon Made in Sweden by Kim Lemon Go to Advanced Search. The link you supplied involves soldering the chips to the Amiga's mobo. If I add a 1 MB trapdoor expansion, that would make 1. Thanks again for the reply! Man, what a helpful bunch you are. I am wondering about something similar and thinking about an aca or the plus version that is due soon. But yeah, back to the original question, as I'm quite curious and kipper2k awaits for my answer. It was bought from retroami store a while ago, can't even remember the exact year. Hello there!
